Getting to the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research
The Institute for Clinical and Translational Research includes offices in Suite 4240 (ICTR Central Administration) and Suite 2112 (ICTR Client Services Center) of the UW Health Sciences Learning Center (HSLC). The HSLC is located next to UW Hospital and Clinics and is accessible by car or bus. See the UW Campus Map for an interactive map of the UW campus and parking lots.
Transportation by car
- Take I-90 or US 151 to Hwy 12/18. Exit Hwy 12/18 at Park St. (Exit 261 B).
- Proceed north on Park St. until you reach University Ave.
- Go west (left) on University Ave and after 4 signal lights, keep right to enter Campus Ave. After you are on Campus Ave., watch for the Highland Street exit.
Parking in the UW Hospital and Clinics parking ramp
- The ramp is adjacent to the hospital and alongside the HSLC. The fee for parking is $1 per hour.
- From University Ave., take the Highland Ave. exit (right)
- Turn right on Highland Ave.Proceed up hill, through the signal light and over hill to stop sign at bottom. You will also see a UW Health sign and several large buildings on your left.
- Turn left at the stop sign. The parking ramp is on your left. The HSLC is the light tan building on your right. The hospital is directly in front of you.
- Upon exiting the parking ramp pedestrian entrance, turn right on the sidewalk to get to the HSLC and follow the sidewalk around to the HSLC front entrance.
Transportation by bus
The city of Madison’s Metro bus service has several routes that go by the HSLC. The Madison Metro Trip Planner allows you to enter your starting and ending destination to find the appropriate route. If you are already on the UW campus, you can take the route 80 bus for free from several locations. The UW Hospital East stop on Highland Avenue is very close to the HSLC. From that bus stop, take the sidewalk towards the front entrance of the Health Sciences Learning Center.
Getting to the ICTR office suites in the HSLC
- After you enter the HSLC front doors, to your left is an elevator lobby. Take the elevator up to the 2nd or 4th floor, depending on the office to which you need to go.
- If you are going to the 2nd floor offices, upon exiting the elevator, please go to your right and then take the first right down the hallway. HSLC Suite 2112 is the second set of doors on your right.
- If you are going to the 4th floor offices, upon exiting the elevators, to your right, you will see a doorway to a hallway (just past HSLC Room 4201). HSLC Suite 4240 is at the end of this hallway, the last set of doors on the right.
